What is Root Canal Treatment?
If tooth decay is not treated early, bacteria can infect the pulp, the nerve tissue inside the tooth, causing pain. Root canal treatment removes all infected pulp tissue, thoroughly disinfects the area, and fills the space with a specialized material. This eliminates pain and ultimately preserves the tooth, allowing it to function comfortably for years to come.
Root Canal Treatment Process
- 01Assessing Tooth Structure
- X-rays are taken to assess the tooth's structure.
- 02Tooth Preparation
- The tooth is prepared to expose the root canal.
- 03Removing Blood Vessels and Tissue
- Infected blood vessels and tissue are removed to prepare for filling with biocompatible material.
- 04Filling with Biocompatible Material
- Once cleaned and the area is healthy, it is filled with biocompatible material.
- 05Core Buildup
- After filling, the remaining space is reinforced with a core buildup material.
- 06Crown Placement
- The final step of root canal treatment: placing the crown.
